Mobility – Fleet ManagementConnectivity Platform
Project BriefOur client wanted to develop a new city scooter that greatly improved ride quality and safety as well as a management platform. We designed the end-to-end customer experience and a platform to support consumer features alongside robust fleet management and the capability for 3rd parties to white-label the scooters and the platform. We segmented the work into several areas:
Controlling VehiclesCore API’s that allowed 3rd parties to communicate and control vehicles in their owned or leased fleets.
ReliabilityA platform that remained secure and reliable at scale in order to support multiple rideshare partners.
DataDetailed vehicle system and vehicle data critical for usage and performance analytics.
The SolutionWe designed the end-to-end customer experience platform for robust data collection and fleet management that could be white labeled and manage millions of vehicles across hundreds of fleets.
Big DataStoring a large amount of data was key to allow for system monitoring and business analytics. We created a logging system that stored each message from partners and vehicles in a data lake on AWS. This allows access to all historic operational data.
Scalability & TestingIn order to ensure that the platform could handle vehicle messaging at scale, we created a virtual city with thousands of vehicles. We then ran simulations to expose vulnerabilities in the architecture. By providing this tool, the platform is more reliable, scalable, and ultimately a lot less expensive to run.
In the face of rapid market expansion we built an entire fleet management platform seemingly overnight.
